Kirtley-Cole Associates recently completed the demolition of an existing building followed by the new construction of a 2-story, wood-frame and CMU 5,628 SF retail/restaurant and office building. The project was constructed on a very tight site, so extra measures taken included: alley closure permit for deliveries/laydown/job trailer; sidewalk use permit for construction scaffolding that also protects pedestrians; and careful coordination with neighbors. The project team worked closely with the Columbia City Landmark District to ensure the project maintained the historical nature of the neighborhood.
