Kirtley-Cole Associates teamed with Hamlin Robinson School to complete the new construction of a 3-story, 45,000 SF building. The new school includes a library, science lab, art and music rooms, gym, innovation/tech Lab, the HRS Learning Center, and a total of 21 classrooms. Hamlin Robinson School is the only school in Washington State dedicated to educating students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. The facility is the first in the nation to be designed and built to facilitate the school’s unique, yet proven, multi-sensory teaching method. The new school aligns building and classroom attributes to support the teaching method, such as natural lighting, window design, soundproofing, intentional floor plans, and temperature controls. The design enables students with varying learning challenges to focus and perform at their potential.
